I should post the whole list so you know what's coming up next! It's here: http://storyofmylifetheblog.blogspot.com/2013/04/blog-every-day-in-may-challenge.html

Which makes today, "Things that make you uncomfortable."

1) I have a big embarrassment squick. Humor that's based on humiliating people is going to have me covering my face or fast-forwarding. This is why I don't watch sitcoms.

2) Drunk people. Actually, anyone whose behavior I can't predict or depend upon, but drunk people especially. Which is one of the reasons it turns out I'm not cut out for Wincon.

3) If you ask me to make extemporaneous remarks in public, I will turn tail and run. Quite possibly literally. I'm fine if I know in advance and have time to prepare something to say, but I will not stand up and say a few words on the spur of the moment.

That's probably good for now. Share one of yours in the comments?

Hmm. Things that make me uncomfortable...basically everything you listed! I tend to over-empathize so I always feel like I'm the one being embarrassed.

Also being the focus of attention for too long. I don't mind it for a brief moment but after that it's all "move along, folks, nothing to see here!"

Oh, me too! Of course, I also get annoyed if I get ignored, so it's hard to win.

Your #1 is 100% me. It is physically painful for me to watch sitcoms (but I do it anyway).

Your #2-3, not so much. LOL.

I guess one of my main one is being present when other people (particularly couples for some reason) argue or snipe at each other. I am extraordinarily conflict-avoidant, and when people are fighting in public, it makes me want to crawl away and die.

Hee! Opposites attract, I guess. ;)

I share your #1 and #2.

If I were to pick a third (and who knows, maybe I'll try a blog-a-day some quiet month! Although some of those topics seem kind of daunting, time-wise to write about, if nothing else. Anyway--)

I'm uncomfortable in large crowds. In social situations, that's parties with more than 6 or 8 people. In downtown Chicago, it's any street during rush hour, or touristy area. Ditto for Times Square in NYC. So many people charging past in all directions makes me cringe. (However, I have no problem queuing at Wimbledon or other sporting events.)

I actually love big crowds, but big parties make me feel awkward, too. Introverts unite!
