As obnoxious and out-of-left-field as the bit with Lisa was, it makes me feel better about how the next ep is going to start. Because the logical way to show the viewers what Dean is planning on doing is to have him making contact with the angels and leaving the episode there, cliffhanger-style. Which means that's not how the next ep is going to start, which means there's hope for him not saying yes just yet.
This ep bothered me much more than the last one, because the last one was like, "Gosh, more dumping on Dean, poor guy." This one had him walking out on Sam after Sam told him to his face that he couldn't do it without him, and that really hurts. I mean, geez.
I just...didn't like that one at all. I remember Lisa a grand total of once, it felt fake like Cheese Whiz, and SAM! I think they could have done more and better with the difference between the deadbead dads and the father who loved his daughter so much. It would have felt more natural -- the father you have doesn't make you into the person you are.
Although seeing Cas after taking a real shot at drinking a town dry kinda sorta made up for some of the stupid. A little.
I want to see a fic about Cas drinking down the liquor store and getting more and more affected along the way. Because I don't think he was using a metaphor there...
