Well, the good news is, I correctly self-diagnosed why my foot's been hurting when I run. Thanks, Internet!

The bad news since, since the pain between my ankle and arch hasn't gotten much better since I ran the New York half marathon in March, the doctor who I finally went to go see about it told me that it's going to take a few more months of taking it easy. And physical therapy in the meantime. So no half in Seattle in four weeks. D: Maybe no half in the fall. DDD: And I somehow have to figure out how to exercise enough in the next few months to not put on weight again and make it even harder when I do get back to running.

Because I will get back to running. I just have to be patient about it. And not be super grumpy in the meantime like I've been since January. Hmph.

Ugh. UGH. Why can't the fix be just waving a magic wand, taking a magic pill, SEX POLLEN, ANYTHING.

My doctor mentioned using the elliptical? (Which I've never done and fear I'd fall off.) Is that an option for you?

Or you could get into swimming and come do a triathlon with meeee!!! ;D

You'll be back and better, faster, stronger than ever soon.

Right? Ugh. Stupid bodies.

Even the elliptical is weight-bearing to a certain extent, but I've been able to row and cycle to at least be a little bit active. How's your foot doing, BTW?

My foot is, sadly, doing worse, not better.

I've actually given up pretty much all running over the past 10 days, since I want to be able to walk in France. Even so, I'm in such pain I'm actually considering getting a cortisone shot this week, just to get me through the trip. Odds of me actually making the marathon are getting slimmer and slimmer every non-training, non-healing day that goes by. :( :( :(

Noooooooooooo! I'm so sorry to hear that, hon. I wanted to cheer you on with an SPN-related sign. But take care of yourself and make sure you heal right.
