Just practice telling someone about 'your' book, using the titles of your various choices - see how it sounds out loud. If it seems a little embarassing (or too dull), or if the reasons for your choice take too long to explain, that might be something to think about :)
"Yeah, it's kind of cool, my name is now on the library copy of ____. It meant so much to me because ....."
I think I'd go for the one I'd most like everyone I know to have read, because I'd probably be recommending it to them anyway, so a 'personalized' copy would be just icing on the cake (buttercream, even). But I'm also a little weird about books - I'll buy one to give as a gift, but mine will never leave my cold, dead (buried under the weight of collapsed bookshelves) hands. And I'm also a book prosyletizer - if I love it, I will try to get you to see why you should read it. =P
Also, better the tree than your house! (or a person, of course, she said responsibly) A friend's house was hit, and she lost just about everything electrical that was plugged in at the time, when it grounded out through the wiring. But at least nothing caught on fire!
