I think he's a bad guy to the extent that he's taking advantage of the situation: not that he's got nefarious plans like Bartholomew, or even necessarily that he was lying to Dean when he said he'd leave when Sam was healed. But I think that the longer he's in Sam, the more he's going to like it there, and he's not going to leave without a fight.
