31 Days: Five and Six

Whoops, missed yesterday because I was actually out being social. (!) So here's two in one:

Day 5: Publicly profess your love and devotion for one of your blogger friends.

I'm guessing most of you already know her, but [livejournal.com profile] cherie_morte is damn awesome. Related to my list of uncomfortable things is attracting attention in public, either myself or the person I'm with, or just generally acting outside the norm. I don't know where this comes from, but it's been a problem ever since I was in grade school and my best friend would act "weird" (AKA, not trying to fit in with the crowd) and I would stand there and wish she wouldn't do whatever it was she was doing. Cherie has no fear of such things. She is completely unapologetic about who she is and what she enjoys, and it's really inspiring to know someone with that much confidence who's also a total sweetheart. ILU, Cherle!

Day 6: If you couldn't answer with your job, how would you answer the question, 'what do you do'?

Not sure if this means, "describe your job without calling it your job" or "what else do you do besides your job?" I'm gonna go with the latter. First, obviously, I write. Although when a colleague asked me once if I write outside of work for fun, I denied it because I wasn't sure how to explain it. :(  Second, as previously reported, I quilt. Well, I like to say that I'm more of a fabric collector than a quilter, but sometimes I actually do finish projects! Mr. Z has pointed out how odd it is that my hobbies are so much like my professional work in that they are large, long-term projects that are more fun to plan for and start than they are to actually do, and that the final stages are often the hardest to get myself to do, resulting in lots of WIPs (or UFOs as they're called in the quilting world: unfinished objects). But I guess they're also alike in that I have a finished product, whether a piece of fic or a quilt that I can look at and say, "I did that," and that I can get immediate feedback on, both of which are rare in my job.

Mr. Z is pretty astute, huh!

That he is!

Cherie is pretty awesome. But of course, so are you! ♥

And you! ♥

Oh my god, stop it! This was the sweetest fucking thing I have read in like a million and one years. Yooouuu. *hugs* (I am glad you are endeared to those things about me--they are either really endearing or really obnoxious to people. XD)

I think that the best thing in life really is when your two hobbies collide and you get UFOs in your writing. BUT THEN I MAY BE BIASED AS WELL.

TBH, I might fall on the endearing rather than obnoxious side because I am watching your exploits from afar. ;)

Welp. At least I know you don't only want me for my body. :P

Not only for your body, no. ;)

Aww I love C! She's AWESOME, yes for those reasons exactly

hahah it's always hard to answer the 'do you write' question

She is truly an inspiration. :D

Right? Because it's not like they're going to stop asking questions once you say yes. /o\
