One of my New Year’s Resolutions is that on each Friend’s birthday, if they have posted creative endeavors on LJ, I will pick one of the ones I really enjoyed and write a new comment to celebrate. So here I am!
I really enjoyed your summergen contribution: Moving through the Dark. One of my most treasured kinds of fanfic is when injuries have consequences. I love to wallow in the tension and suspense of a well-written story when one of my favorite characters gets hurt trying to rescue/protect the other one – and then it all goes downhill from there!
I love when the physical challenges (and okay, suffering, too!) are obstacles to be overcome – there’s an honest-to-goodness plot and the hurt affects the plot. I like snarky brothers who are in character. I like the angst on the show, but not more than canon-levels. This is a season 2 fic, and you position the angst exactly where it should be at that point in time.
I know I can always count on your fic to be carefully crafted, with nothing to make me stumble as a reader. I just wanted you to know that sometimes, like in stories like this, you really hit all my buttons, too. This one gets bookmarked to read again – with a special tag for brotherly blood transfusions!
